Abstract

This chapter concludes the book by comparing the United States and East Asia in terms of the political and economic systems and culture, and, based on the comparison, discussing whether and how the United States can learn from East Asia to better compete globally. In particular, it identifies two advantages East Asia has: the hard-working culture and government effectiveness, and suggests ways in which the United States and other old economies may improve in these two aspects.
