Abstract

This chapter reviews the basics of strategic management from the international business perspective, and explains how the two major challenges in doing business internationally—the pressure to lower cost and the pressure to localize—influence the strategic decisions of the firm. It then correlates the strategic choice of a company with its market environment in major Asian countries.
